[Intranasal co-administration of recombinant streptococcus group B polypeptides and influenza deltaNS1 vaccine].

In the present work, the immunoadjuvant properties of the influenza deltaNS1 vaccine virus after intranasal administration in combination with recombinant GBS polypeptides was tested in mice. According to our data, co-administration of recombinant GBS polypeptides and influenza deltaNS1 vaccine resulted in the increase in the immunogenicity and protective efficacy of bacterial proteins. Combined vaccination with the GBS polypeptides and influenza deltaNS1 vaccine has a potential to be used not only for prophylaxis infections caused by SGB, but also for prevention of the bacterial complications of influenza.

[Recombinant fragments of conservative proteins of group B streptococci as a basis of specific vaccine].

Aim: The study devoted to problem of using of recombinant fragments of group B streptococci (GBS) conservative proteins for induction of immune response against streptococcal infections. Two recombinant polypeptides (ScaAB and-ScpB1) corresponding to immunogenic epitopes of two surface GBS proteins ScaAB and C5a-peptidase, which are presented in other streptococcal species, were studied. The objective of the study was to assess specificity and protective activity of mentioned polypeptides against homologous and heterologous strains of pathogenic streptococci from different groups.

[Protective properties of certain external proteins of group B streptococci].

On the basis of genes, which control synthesis of externally localized proteins of group B streptococci (bac and scaAB), recombinant polypeptides P6 and ScaAB were obtained. Data on protective activity of these polypeptides during experimental infection of immunized mice as well as in opsonophagocytic test on cultivated peritoneal macrophages are presented. It has been shown that protective effect of specific antibodies to P6 was dependent from intensity of immune response.

[Immunogenicity of modified by dextran recombinant fragment of Bac protein of group B streptococci].

Opportunity to increase of immunogenicity of recombinant polypeptide P6 constructed on the basis of surface protective Bac protein by its chemical conjugation with dextran (D) 40 was studied. 3 preparations with different quantity of protein and polysaccharide components were obtained. Their testing with standard serum showed that antigenic determinants of the polypeptide were preserved although partly enclosed and structure of antigenic determinants did not significantly changed.

[Experimental evaluation of recombinant polypeptides as Streptococcus Group B vaccine].

Recombinant polypeptides corresponding to the conservative N-terminal area of Bac surface protein of group B streptococci (GBS) and having the human IgA binding-site were obtained and evaluated in terms of Immunogenic and protective properties. GBS strain 219, serotype 1 bc, served as the source of chromosomal DNA used for cloning. Three polypeptides P1, P5 and P6 were constructed.

[Modern approaches to the management of an anesthesiological support in pediatric ENT surgery].

The paper deals with the topical problem of pediatric anesthesiology--current approaches to performing an anesthesiological appliance in pediatric ENT surgery. The study included 1299 children aged 3 days of life to 14 with various surgical ENT abnormalities at anesthesia risk I-III (ASA) in whom surgical intervention was performed under multicomponent general anesthesia or under local anesthesia. The paper comparatively characterizes the currently available methods for general anesthesia used during both short ENT surgery and long endonasal microendoscopic interventions.

[Circulatory encephalopathy in patients with arterial hypertension].

More accurate definition of the leading factors of development of discirculatory encephalopathy (DE) in patients with arterial hypertension was the aim of this investigation. The analysis of correlations between clinical and computer tomographical symptoms of DE on the one hand and the indices of central hemodynamics, head blood circulation and presence of atherosclerosis of head arteria on the other hand was performed. It was found that congestion in head venous system was the main factor in DE development.

[A quantitative assessment of the blood supply to the head by indirect rheography].

Clinical-experimental basis of the possibility of application of the method of indirect rheography of head (IRH) in wide clinical practice was presented. Estimation of the results reproduction and accuracy of the method was performed too. 40 healthy individuals of both sexes at the age of 18-50 and 102 patients with spinal osteochondrosis, arterial hypertension and neurocirculatory dystonia were examined.

Correlations between the physical development and immune status of children and adolescents were studied. [Immunocytophotometric and cytogenetic analyses of T-lymphoblastoid cell lines in experimental HIV Infection].

The accumulation of viral proteins p24 and gp41 in MT-4 cells was shown to occur asynchronously. No increase in the number of polydiploid cells, no polyploid mitoses or chromosome defects were found indicating the antiproliferative effect of HIV on MT-4 cells. [Non-specific fermentemia as a possible cause of postoperative disorders of motor function of the small intestine].

The authors studied duodenal myoelectric activity and the activity of trypsin, alpha 1-antitrypsin, alpha 2-macroglobulin, alpha-amylase, and kallikrein after 15-minute occlusion of the hepatic portal vein. The correlation was found between the activity of alpha 1-antitrypsin and the phases of the myoelectrical complex. It is concluded that the discharge of pancreatic proteases during an operative trauma may underlie the pathogenesis of postoperative inhibition of intestinal peristalsis.

[Changes in the gene expression of the hepatitis B virus in PLC-PRF-5 cells of human hepatocarcinoma during their acquisition of drug resistance].

Mutant clones of hepatocarcinoma cell line PLC-PRF-5 containing integrated hepatitis B virus genome were derived by multistep selection for resistance to some toxic agents. These clones were found to display various stages of cell differentiation according to growth rate, ability to synthesize alpha-fetoprotein, to grow in semisolid medium and to cloning in agar. In the majority of the clones with higher stages of differentiation the expression of HBsAg gene was demonstrated to be increased as compared to the original line, and in some of these clones the expression of silent HBcAg was activated.

[Reaction of rats with various constitutional features to the effect of weak variable magnetic fields of extremely low frequency].

The influence of 8 Hz frequency and 5 mcTl induction changing magnetic fields on the functional state of blood neutrophils, sympathoadrenal system and brain integrative activity in rats with low, middle and high level of mobility was investigated in open test. It was found out that changing magnetic fields provoke the stress-reaction development in rats with low mobile activity. The adaptation which develops in rats with high and middle mobile activity comes later by 5-7 days in high mobility rats.

[Hypotrypsinemia as a possible factor in the activation of motor function of the duodenum in pancreatic atrophy in rats].

The effect of pancreas atrophy on myoelectrical activity of the duodenum and serum trypsin, trypsin inhibitor, amylase, lipase activity has been described. The activation of the duodenum motor activity has been established. The changes in the motor activity were connected with trypsin and trypsin inhibitor activity of serum.

[The use of DNA hybridization in situ for identifying chromosomal rearrangements in the karyotyping of cell lines].

A complex karyological analysis of three human cell lines (PLC-PRF-5, MT-4 and U937) was carried out that involved traditional methods of G-, C-banding and silver staining, in addition to the in situ hybridization technique using 4 alpha-satellite DNA probes: DNA specific for centromeric regions of chromosome 11, 6, 13, and 21, and 14 and 22. The application of this additional method allowed to identify, prove or detalize the structure of 13 markers in PLC-PRF-5 cells, 1 marker in MT-4 cells, and 3 markers in U937 cells. The results show that the in situ hybridization method would be successful in cell line karyotyping for a more objective identification of some markers difficult for analysis.

[Use of a simplified method of calculation of mean life expectancy for patients with specific diseases].

In connection with the introduction of new economic mechanisms in public health a necessity has arisen for thorough and comprehensive evaluation of final results of the performance of curative and preventive institutions and some of their units, which are the positive changes in the population health. A great number of indicators reflecting some aspects of population health demand the search of integral evaluation methods. The indicator of mean life expectancy and its modifications is one of such integral indicators.

[Group B streptococci in neonatal pathology: pathogenetic mechanism, diagnosis and prevention].

Group B streptococci have recently attracted the attention of researchers as the causative agents of human neonatal disease. They are currently encountered much more frequently than it was believed previously. Various types of adult pathogen carriers have been described; this accounts for the numerous sources and pathways of infection transmission, both vertical and horizontal.

[Atopic dermatitis. III. The role of immune complexes in the pathogenesis, assessment of the severity and the prognosis of the disease].

Examinations of 78 patients with atopic dermatitis have confirmed the important role played by the immune complexes in the immunopathological and inflammatory processes. In atopic dermatitis elevated concentrations of immune complexes could be detected only in the patients with a severe diffuse process. The findings evidence that the most informative parameters of circulating immune complexes are their size and composition, that are of diagnostic and prognostic value in this condition.

[Preparation of immune sera to group A streptococcus lipoteichoic acid].

A method is described for the preparation of sera highly active in reactions with Group A Streptococcus lipoteichoic acid. Ultrasound-destroyed biomass of Streptomyces levoris K-3053 strain is used as the antigen. This strain was isolated in studies of soil Streptomyces; it contains sufficient amounts of nonglycosylated glycerolteichoic acid of the first-third types, that is identical in structure to polyglycerophosphate skeleton of Group A Streptococcus lipoteichoic acid.

[The role of fibronectin in the streptococcal adhesion process].

The work shows that fibronectin obtained from human plasma is capable of binding with streptococci of different groups with almost equal effectiveness. Fibronectin bound to bacterial cells inhibits the adhesion of group A streptococci onto vaginal cells, but it produces no effect on the adhesion of group B streptococci. The binding constant of fibronectin 125I is equal to 10(6) -M-1, which indicates that the level of the specificity of interaction is not sufficiently high.
