Background: To investigate the safety and feasibility of the completely medial access by page-turning approach (CMAP) for laparoscopic right hemi-colectomy.
Methods: In this retrospective study, the data from 72 patients who underwent laparoscopic right hemi-colectomy with CMAP were analyzed and compared with data from 124 patients who underwent the conventional medial approach performed by the same surgical team from September 2011 to March 2017.
Result: Complete mesocolic excision (CME) was achieved in 67 of 72 patients (93.
Transcriptional deregulation has a vital role in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Thus, identification of epigenetic modifiers essential for oncogenic transcriptional programs is a key to designing effective therapeutics for this deadly disease. Here we report that Protein Arginine Methyltransferase 2 (PRMT2) is highly expressed in GBM and correlated with poor prognosis.

Ischemic heart diseases (IHD) cause millions of deaths around the world annually. While surgical and pharmacological interventions are commonly used to treat patients with IHD, their efficacy varies from patient to patient and is limited by the severity of the disease. One promising, at least theoretically, approach for treating IHD is induction of coronary collateral growth (CCG).

The formed DBS fibrils were interconnected into networks and anchored onto the PAN nanofibers, which decreased the pore sizes and enhanced the mechanical properties, the filtration efficiency, and particularly the flux.

However, there are few reports on the interaction and variation between them. In this study, the vertical and horizontal scatter degree method is used to calculate a comprehensive index of industrial pollution emissions.

However, these biopharmaceutical agents bear the risk of extensive target-mediated drug disposition or atypical pharmacokinetic properties as compared to canonical antibodies. Pharmacokinetics and bio-distribution studies become therefore more and more important during lead optimization.

In this review, we evaluate and compare the most promising applications in the field of diabetes mellitus (DM) and obesity. Most applications monitor body weight, fasting or postprandial blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin (Hgb) A1c (HgbA1c), and units and types of insulin used.

Against the backgrounds of emission reduction targets promised by China, it is crucial to explore drivers of CO₂ emissions comprehensively for policy making. In this study, Shandong Province in China is taken as an example to investigate drivers in carbon density by using an extended Kaya identity and a logarithmic mean Divisia index model (LMDI) with two layers. It is concluded that there are eight positive driving factors of carbon density during 2000⁻2015, including traffic congestion, land urbanization, etc.

We present a 61-year-old woman who suffered from peritoneal cancer surgery 2 years ago, referred for Tc-MDP bone scan because of higher serum CA-125 level, which showed multiple intense tracer activities in her abdominal and pelvic region without other abnormalities. SPECT/CT revealed the activities were loaded in the intestine but not in the bone.

However, the regulatory networks and differentially expressed microRNAs (miRNAs) related to grafting in apple remain unclear. Herein, we conducted high-throughput sequencing and identified differentially expressed miRNAs among self-rooted Fuji, self-rooted M9, and grafted Fuji/M9.

The potential role of hormone, wounding, and sugar signalling pathways in mediating AR formation has not been adequately explored and the whole co-expression network in AR formation has not been well established in apple. In order to identify the molecular mechanisms underlying AR formation in 'T337' apple rootstocks, transcriptomic changes that occur during four stages of AR formation (0, 3, 9 and 16 days) were analyzed using high-throughput sequencing.

At present, the genomes of seven fruit species have been fully sequenced. However, little is known about the gene family and their evolutionary history in these species.

Oocyte activation inefficiency is the most challenging problem for failed fertilization and embryonic development. Mitochondrial function and intracellular [Ca]i oscillations are two critical factors for the oocyte's developmental potential.

Compared with the classical Bell-Cameron-Lucas-Washburn (BCLW) theory, anomalous coefficient is always observed because of the increasing role of surfaces. Here, a molecular kinetics approach is adopted to explain the mechanism of anomalous behaviors at the molecular level; a unified model taking account of the confined liquid properties (viscosity and density) and slip boundary condition is proposed to demonstrate the macroscopic consequences, and the model results are successfully validated against the published literature.

Our experiments demonstrate that efficient tailoring of the CuO-Cu nanocomposites can be realized by accurate control and optimization of the ambient parameters, such as laser energy and NaOH concentration. Compared to hydrothermally fabricated CuO-Cu catalysts, the laser-reduced composites exhibit better visible-light photocatalytic activity for MB degradation, which could be attributed to the formation of special catalytically active structures on the nanocomposite surface.
