Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of cefiderocol (CFDC) in the treatment of Gram-negative bacteria (GNB) infections.

Methods: Relevant studies were collected from PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane, and Embase databases, from inception to 15 October 2023. The search formula was as follow: "cefiderocol", "S-649266", "Gram-Negative Bacteria", "Gram Negative Bacteria", "Klebsiella pneumoniae", "Hyalococcus pneumoniae", and "Bacterium pneumoniae proposal".

The human gut microbiome within the gastrointestinal tract continuously adapts to variations in diet, medications, and host physiology. A central strategy for genetic adaptation is epigenetic phase variation (ePV) mediated by bacterial DNA methylation, which can regulate gene expression, enhance clonal heterogeneity, and enable a single bacterial strain to exhibit variable phenotypic states. Genome-wide and site-specific ePV have been well characterized in human pathogens' antigenic variation and virulence factor production.

An Adsorbent for Efficient and Rapid Gold Recovery from Solution: Adsorption Properties and Mechanisms.

Adsorption is an efficient and highly selective method for gold recovery. Introducing rich N/S organic groups to combine with metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as adsorbents is regarded as a practical and efficient approach to enhance gold recovery. Herein, a MOF (zirconium isothiocyanatobenzenedicarboxylate MOF, UiO-66-NCS) was designed to combine with amidinothiourea (AT) to form UiO-66-AT (zirconium amidothiourea-benzenedicarboxylate MOF) for efficient and rapid adsorption.

Background: To evaluate the prognostic effect of endovascular treatment (EVT) in patients with acute base artery occlusion (ABAO) within 24 h of onset, and analyze the factors related to prognosis.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on all ABAO patients who received EVT within 24 h of onset in the neurology department of Baotou Central Hospital in Inner Mongolia from May 2016 to October 2022. Good prognosis was defined as a Modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score of 0-3 and poor prognosis mRS score of 4-6 at 90 day follow-up, and factors related to prognosis were analyzed.

Tailoring crystal facets of metal-organic frameworks to enhance sensing performance for aromatic vapors detection.

It is well known that metals and metal oxides with different crystal facets exhibit varying sensitivity in gas sensors, but this strategy is rarely used in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Herein, we proved for the first time that Cu metal-organic with high energy crystal facets (Cu-MOF-74-300) shows a much higher sensitivity than the low energy crystal facets (Cu-MOF-74-110), with a up to 2 times response more than Cu-MOF-74-110 and ultra-low limit of detection (LOD) of 68 ppb to toluene vapors. In addition, this strategy was further demonstrated on MOF-14 and HKUST-1, which are also Cu-centered and exhibit clear recognition effects on benzene and xylene, respectively.

We searched PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science according to the PECOS criteria: population (gastric cancer patients), exposure (weight loss), comparator (weight stable), outcomes [overall survival (OS) or recurrence-free survival], and study design (cohort studies).

Hydrothermally Constructed MoS/ZnInS Heterostructure for Promotion of Photocatalytic H Evolution.

The integration of the second material with unique properties into original material to fabricate heterostructure represents an effective strategy to enhance photocatalytic H evolution. Herein, we synthesized a MoS/ZnInS heterostructured photocatalyst using a two-step hydrothermal method. The resulting MoS/ZnInS displayed the flower-like morphology formed by staked nanosheets, significantly accelerating photocatalytic H evolution performance.

Impaired β cell function is a hallmark of type 2 diabetes (T2D), but the underlying cellular signaling machineries that regulate β cell function remain unknown. Here, we identify that the interleukin-22 receptor subunit alpha 1 (IL-22RA1), known as a co-receptor for IL-22, is downregulated in human and mouse T2D β cells. Mice with β cell Il22ra1 knockout (Il22ra1βKO) exhibit defective insulin secretion and impaired glucose tolerance after being fed a high-fat diet (HFD) or an HFD/low dose of streptozotocin (STZ).

Methods: This retrospective study included patients diagnosed with CVST between January 2016 and December 2020 at Baotou Central Hospital. The data were collected from patient charts, including sex, age, comorbidities, pregnancy, smoking, alcohol drinking, symptoms at onset, radiological location, examinations, Glasgow coma scale (GCS) at admission, National Institutes of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) at admission, modified Rankin scale (mRS) at admission, and treatments.
