Background: Airline pilots face significant ultraviolet radiation exposure resulting in an increased risk of sun damage and skin cancers. We aimed to evaluate sun-protective practices and associated factors among airline pilots.
Methods: We disseminated an online questionnaire evaluating the use of sunscreen, sunglasses, hats and protective clothing during daytime hours in the cockpit and during outdoor activities to 346 global commercial airline pilots, and we received 220 completed responses.

Background: ChAdOx1-S (Covishield™/Vaxzervria, AstraZeneca) and BBV152 (Covaxin) SARS-CoV-2 vaccines are proven to be safe and effective, but rare complications have been reported.
Objective: To describe reports of central nervous system (CNS) demyelination following ChAdOx1-S and BBV152 vaccinations.
Methods & Results: We report 29 (17 female; mean 38 years) cases of CNS demyelination; twenty-seven occurred in temporal association with ChAdOx1-S vaccine; two in association with BBV152 vaccine.

Methods: Nasopharyngeal swabs, surface, and air samples were collected from the rooms of 78 inpatients with COVID-19 at 6 acute care hospitals in Toronto from March to May 2020. Samples were tested for SARS-CoV-2 ribonucleic acid (RNA), cultured to determine potential infectivity, and whole viral genomes were sequenced.
This study provided a novel pathway to develop activated carbon with enhanced adsorption performance via feedstock pretreatment by fungi. The growth of Pleurotus ostreatus on cottonseed husks offered this feedstock an advantageous pore size for porous carbon making. The prepared activated carbons derived from cottonseed husks (CSH-ACs) during different fungal growth periods exhibited extraordinary performance than commercial activated carbon for sulfanilamide adsorptive removal.
