The accumulation of plastic waste has urged researchers to develop methods of waste conversion into valuable products, which is fuel. This study aimed to synthesize Ni embedded onto Aceh natural zeolite (Ni/Aceh-zeolite) as a cheap catalyst which could be used in the reforming process to improve the quality of oil produced from polypropylene (PP) pyrolysis. Ni/Aceh-zeolite was synthesized from Ni(NO)·6HO and acid-activated natural zeolite through impregnation and calcination.

Microwave-assisted catalysis of water-glycerol solutions for hydrogen production over NiO/zeolite catalyst.

In this study, glycerol as an abundant green feedstock was used as a hydrogen source to investigate the reaction of water-glycerol solution decomposition by microwave-assisted catalytic to produce hydrogen over NiO/zeolite catalyst. The catalyst was prepared by inception wetness and then characterized through X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy diffraction X-ray (EDX), and transmission electron microscope (TEM) measurements. The conversion process of glycerol into hydrogen was performed in a fixed-bed microwave-assisted reactor.

Simultaneous sulfur dioxide and mercury removal during low-rank coal combustion by natural zeolite.

Sulfur dioxide (SO) and trace metal such as mercury emission during combustion of low-rank coal cause a significant impact on the environment and health. Flue gas at coal-fired power stations is one of the main sources for the emissions of SO and mercury metal. Low-cost and sustainable technologies for the removal of SO and mercury from flue gas have become increasingly important nowadays.

Nowadays, the solid waste produced from palm oil has become one of the essential oils in the world in general and especially in Indonesia. Biomass waste is processed through substantial quantities of palm oil extraction. With the reduction in fossil fuels in recent years, it has had an impact on the deterioration of electricity supply at the National and International levels.
