Purpose: To assess the predictive value of volumetric apparent diffusion coefficient (vADC) histogram quantification obtained before and 6 weeks (6w) post-treatment for assessment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) response to Yttrium radioembolization (RE).
Methods: In this retrospective study, 22 patients (M/F 15/7, mean age 65y) who underwent lobar RE were included between October 2013 and November 2014. All patients underwent routine liver MRI pre-treatment and 6w after RE.
Zeolites are porous, aluminosilicate materials with many industrial and "green" applications. Despite their industrial relevance, many aspects of zeolite synthesis remain poorly understood requiring costly trial and error synthesis. In this paper, we create natural language processing techniques and text markup parsing tools to automatically extract synthesis information and trends from zeolite journal articles.

Broad molecular profiling is now nearly essential for all patients with metastatic solid tumors. New agents have been approved based on molecular testing instead of tumor site of origin.

Increasing enrollment into clinical trials is a top priority across the field of oncology. Because the vast majority of those afflicted with cancer receive their care in the community, creating strong clinical research programs in the community-based setting is important. This article comprehensively outlines the most important elements of creating and sustaining a successful community-based research program.

The anti-tumour activity of effector T cells can be therapeutically unleashed, and is now being exploited for the treatment of some forms of human cancer. However, weak tumour-associated inflammatory responses and the immune-suppressive function of T cells remain major hurdles to broader effectiveness of tumour immunotherapy.

Radioembolization is a relatively safe procedure with major complications being rare. Understanding how to identify the potential complications and their treatment can help make the procedure even safer and mitigate the risk of severe life threatening complications.

Hypogonadism is an important issue among the male population. Treatments such as exogenous testosterone have become very popular. One of the adverse effects of testosterone is its suppression of fertility.

Methods: Retrieval of IVCF placed in a suprarenal position was performed in 13 patients (5 men and 8 women; mean age: 45.1 ± 13.
Background: The benefit of transarterial radioembolization (TARE) in patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is increasingly evidenced. However, data on outcome of liver transplantation or resection after TARE remain scarce. This study aimed to assess the safety and feasibility of surgery after TARE in patients with unresectable HCC.

Details regarding the incidence of these gene rearrangements are lacking. Here, we assessed the incidence of fusions across multiple tumor types and described fusion partners.

This analysis aimed to identify patient and disease characteristics during PP1M treatment associated with greater likelihood of achieving remission after transition to PP3M.
Methods: A post hoc analysis of a randomized, Phase III, double-blind, noninferiority trial of PP3M vs PP1M (ClinicalTrials.
Radioembolization with yttrium-90 microspheres has a growing role in the interventional oncological management of patient's with hepatocellular carcinoma. Patients with Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer early or intermediate hepatocellular carcinoma may be offered radioembolization in order to control tumor burden while awaiting a transplant organ-referred to as "bridging" a patient to transplantation-or to reduce tumor burden such that patients will subsequently meet criteria for curative therapies-known as "downstaging" a patient to eligible tumor characteristics. More specific applications of radioembolization have been developed over the past two decades.

Despite significant effort and recent advances, the mechanism by which the HAT and transcriptional coactivator p300 mediates tumorigenesis remains unclear. Here, we use a genetic and chemical approach to identify the microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) as a critical downstream target of p300 driving human melanoma growth.

We present a national representation of radiologists' opinions regarding the usefulness and optimal approach for implementing a system to promote access to radiotherapy (RT) plans.
Methods: An anonymous survey was sent to the members of the Association of University Radiologists.
Objective: The feasibility and safety of managing ambulatory continuous peripheral nerve blocks (CPNB) in Veterans Health Administration (VHA) patients are currently unknown. We aimed to characterize the outcomes of a large VHA cohort of ambulatory upper extremity surgery patients discharged with CPNB and identify differences, if any, between catheter types.
Methods: With institutional review board approval, we reviewed data for consecutive patients from a single VHA hospital who had received ambulatory CPNB for upper extremity surgery from March 2011 to May 2017.
Introduction: Factors underlying the selection of antipsychotics for patients with schizophrenia are poorly understood. This study investigated variables associated with initiation of treatment with the long-acting injectables paliperidone palmitate (LAI-PP) and aripiprazole LAI (LAI-AP) in Medicaid patients with schizophrenia.
Methods: Adults with at least one medical or pharmacy claim for LAI-PP or LAI-AP from 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2016 were selected from the IBM MarketScan Medicaid Database.
The BCL-2 family of proteins, including anti-apoptotic members BCL-2, BCL-XL and MCL-1, are part of a complex network that controls apoptosis. BH3-mimetics such as ABT-263 inhibit anti-apoptotic BCL-2 proteins and have been developed as potential cancer therapeutics. Aurora Kinase A (AKA) is over-expressed in pancreatic cancer (PC) and controls G2-M transition during mitosis and AKA inhibitors have been developed that induce mitotic arrest.

Materials And Methods: A randomized controlled crossover trial was conducted at a single institution. Thirty patients with hepatocellular carcinoma undergoing mapping and transarterial radioembolization (TARE) were enrolled to experience 1 TRA and 1 TFA procedure each, with randomization of which access approach was experienced first.
Purpose: Guidelines recommend testing for EGFR mutation at diagnosis of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer to guide treatment. Two surveys, 18 months apart, aimed to identify changes in EGFR mutation testing and treatment practices in non-small-cell lung cancer.
Methods: The first survey of 562 physicians from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States was conducted between December 2014 and January 2015.

We compared pain outcomes in TKA patients before and after implementation of the IPACK with the hypothesis that patients receiving IPACK blocks will report lower pain scores on postoperative day (POD) 0 than non-IPACK patients.
Methods: With Institutional Review Board approval, we retrospectively reviewed data for consecutive TKA patients by a single surgeon 4 months before (PRE) and after (POST) IPACK implementation.
Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (PNETs) are relatively uncommon, accounting for 1-2% of all pancreatic neoplasms. Tumour grade (based on the Ki67 proliferative index and mitotic rate) is associated with metastatic risk across large cohorts; however, predicting the behaviour of individual tumours can be difficult. Therefore, any tool which could further stratify metastatic risk may be clinically beneficial.

Both external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) and transarterial radioembolization (TARE) have been utilized for this patient population. We sought to compare outcomes using dual modality radiation (EBRT+TARE) versus EBRT alone in patients with HCC and GVI.
