Introduction: EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) is the standard adjuvant treatment for patients with stages IB to IIIA -mutated NSCLC. Nevertheless, adapting this approach to include a molecular residual disease (MRD)-guided de-escalation strategy warrants further investigation.
Methods: From January 2019 to December 2022, 71 patients with stages I to III NSCLC and (exon 19 deletion or L858R) mutations were enrolled in this observational study.
Purpose: Pediatric papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is recommended to perform aggressive surgery to reduce the risk of recurrence. This study was designed to evaluate the concurrent association between multifocality, bilaterality, and the risk of recurrence in pediatric PTC.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cohort study included pediatric patients (age <19 years) who underwent total thyroidectomy for PTC between 1996 and 2014 in a single tertiary center.
The hippocampus is crucial for forming new episodic memories. While the encoding of spatial and temporal information (where and when) in the hippocampus is well understood, the encoding of objects (what) remains less clear due to the high dimensions of object space. Rather than encoding each individual object separately, the hippocampus may instead encode categories of objects to reduce this dimensionality.

However, epidermoid cysts occurring in the breast are extremely rare, rarely reported, and more prone to complications such as infection, rupture, and malignant alteration. Here, we report a case of a 50-year-old woman with a mammary epidermoid cyst.

Transglutaminase 2 (TG2) is a widely distributed multifunctional protein with various enzymatic and non-enzymatic activities. It is becoming increasingly evident that high levels of TG2 in tumors induce the occurrence of epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) and the acquisition of stem cell-like phenotypes, promoting tumor metastasis and drug resistance. By regulating intracellular and extracellular signaling pathways, TG2 promotes breast cancer metastasis to lung, brain, liver and bone, as well as resistance to various chemotherapy drugs including docetaxel, doxorubicin, platinum and neratinib.

Background: Ricin, a toxin extracted from the seeds of , is classified as a ribosome-inactivating protein. The A-subunit of ricin shows RNA -glycosidase activity that cleaves ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and exhibits toxicity by inhibiting protein synthesis and inducing vascular leak syndrome.
Methods: In this study, we created a truncated version of the previously developed R51 ricin vaccine (RTA 1-194 D75C Y80C) through in silico analysis.

Background/objectives: Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a primary factor in skin photoaging, leading to wrinkles, reduced elasticity, and pigmentation changes due to damage to cellular DNA, proteins, and lipids. Glycoproteins from sesame cake (SPE) have potential protective effects against UV-induced skin aging. This study investigated the anti-photoaging effects of SPE on UV-induced damage in human keratinocyte HaCaT cells and SKH-1 hairless mice.

Backgruound: Adrenocortical carcinomas (ACCs) are rare tumors with aggressive but varied prognosis. Stage, Grade, Resection status, Age, Symptoms (S-GRAS) score, based on clinical and pathological factors, was found to best stratify the prognosis of European ACC patients. This study assessed the prognostic performance of modified S-GRAS (mS-GRAS) scores including modified grade (mG) by integrating mitotic counts into the Ki67 index (original grade), in Korean ACC patients.

Although peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) is a promising non-pharmacological approach that has been used in lower-limb postoperative recovery, the clinical efficacy of PNS remains inconclusive. This study systematically searched three databases (PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library) for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that examined the treatment effects of PNSs in patients who underwent lower-limb orthopedic surgery up to September 29, 2023.

The results indicated that supplementation with RPG significantly reduced body weight gain, blood glucose levels, and the tissue index of epididymal white adipose tissue (eWAT) and subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT). Conversely, it increased the tissue index of brown adipose tissue (BAT).

This retrospective study included consecutive patients treated with RFA for symptomatic benign nonfunctioning thyroid nodules between March 2007 and December 2010. RFA was performed according to the standard protocol.

Materials And Methods: This study included 463 LNs from 399 patients with DTC. Three radiologists independently analyzed strong LN enhancement on CT.
Nanomaterial advancements have driven progress in central and peripheral nervous system applications such as tissue regeneration and brain-machine interfacing. Ideally, neural interfaces with native tissue shall seamlessly integrate, a process that is often mediated by the interfacial material properties. Surface topography and material chemistry are significant extracellular stimuli that can influence neural cell behavior to facilitate tissue integration and augment therapeutic outcomes.

However, research focusing on treatment strategies for hormonal receptor positive (HR+), HER2+ BC patients with brain metastases (BM) remains limited. Thus, a multi-center, prospective trial was conducted in China.

Methods: We included 46,247 patients (32,372 and 13,875 in training and validation sets, respectively) from a national health checkup center database. Univariate and multivariate Cox analyses were performed to identify factors influencing T2DM risk.
Importance: Uninterrupted targeted therapy until disease progression or intolerable toxic effects is currently the routine therapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) involving driver gene variations. However, drug resistance is inevitable.
Objective: To assess the clinical feasibility of adaptive de-escalation tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment guided by circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) for achieving complete remission after local consolidative therapy (LCT) in patients with advanced NSCLC.
