Frog virus 3-like ranaviruses (FV3-like viruses), particularly FV3 (Frog virus 3), represent typical species within the genus Ranavirus, primarily infecting amphibians and reptiles, thereby posing serious threats to aquaculture and biodiversity conservation. We designed a pair of universal primers and a probe targeting the conserved region of the major capsid protein (MCP) genes of FV3-like viruses. By integrating recombinase-aided amplification (RAA) with lateral flow dipstick (LFD) technology and real-time fluorescence (RF) modification, we established RAA-LFD and RF-RAA assays.

This survey aimed to investigate the availability of drugs for stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) treatment in Chinese hospitals and to determine whether drug availability significantly varied among hospitals with different characteristics. A well-constructed questionnaire was designed according to the Chinese Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of COPD (revised version 2021). Both inhaled drugs (monotherapy, double therapy and triple therapy) and oral drugs (expectorants, theophylline, antibiotics, and bacterial lysates) were included in this survey.

3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) is a widely recognized entactogen frequently used recreationally. It is known for its interaction with the serotonin and oxytocin systems, which underlie its entactogenic effects in humans. Recently, we demonstrated that the gut-brain axis, mediated by the subdiaphragmatic vagus nerve, contributes to MDMA-induced resilience enhancement in rodents.

The development of novel antibacterial agents is crucial. Indocyanine green (ICG), a widely used imaging dye, efficiently generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) and heat for treating bacterial infections but suffers from aggregation and instability, limiting its efficacy.

The results demonstrated that a higher AS/BS ratio led to an increase in hardness, resilience, and chewiness. Moreover, the sensory scores for BS-dominated liangpi were significantly lower than those for AS-dominated liangpi, and liangpi with 60 % AS had the highest sensory scores.

We conducted a systematic review with meta-analysis to examine the costs of CHD treatment by region and CHD subtypes, examine whether there are cost difference by sex, and examine costing methodologies.
Design: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of non-randomised studies.
In the treatment of brain tumors, accurate diagnosis and treatment heavily rely on reliable brain tumor segmentation, where multimodal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) plays a pivotal role by providing valuable complementary information. This integration significantly enhances the performance of brain tumor segmentation. However, due to the uneven grayscale distribution, irregular shapes, and significant size variations in brain tumor images, this task remains highly challenging.

Methods: Thyroid cancer tissue samples were obtained for single-cell RNA-sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, aiming to intratumoral and antimetastatic heterogeneity of advanced PTC. The functions of APOE in PTC cell proliferation and invasion were confirmed through in vivo and in vitro assays.
The histone acetylation modification is a conservative post-translational epigenetic regulation in fungi. It includes acetylation and deacetylation at the lysine residues of histone, which are catalyzed by histone acetyltransferase (HAT) and deacetylase (HDAC), respectively. The histone acetylation modification plays crucial roles in fungal growth and development, environmental stress response, secondary metabolite (SM) biosynthesis, and pathogenicity.

This study explores the responses of the denitrification rate, anammox rate, and nitrous oxide (NO) accumulation to P-TWP, A-TWP, P-TWPL, and A-TWPL exposure in estuarine sediments, and assesses the potential biotoxic substances present in TWPLs. P-TWPs reduced the denitrification rate by 17.

Methods: From January 2020 to December 2022, 104 newly diagnosed female patients (the number of people who met the inclusion criteria) with breast cancer who were confirmed to be preoperative NAC by puncture pathology were selected for a randomised single-blind trial. The patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 52 cases in each group.
Background: Cervical cancer is associated with persistent infection of high-risk human papillomaviruses (HPVs). Prophylactic HPV vaccines have been recommended and have significant efficacy in preventing cervical cancer. Multivalent HPV vaccines have a better preventative effect on HPV-related diseases.

This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of delivering a community wellness program for older adults living with chronic disease. A two-group randomized controlled study, with blinded assessments, enrolling adults (≥50 years) with chronic disease, was conducted at a Western Australian community hub.

Methods: Outpatient and hospitalized gout patients ( = 4384) at the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College between January 2017 and December 2020 were divided into normal ( = 2393) and abnormal ( = 1991) renal function groups according to their eGFR. The relationships between clinical laboratory indicators and the eGFR were analysed, and a logistic regression model was fit to identify significant risk factors.
This study investigated the relationship between eye movement parameters and cognitive function in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease (AD). A total of 80 patients with AD (mild and moderate) and 34 normal controls (NC) participated. Neuropsychological assessments were conducted using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), while eye movements were recorded using eye-tracking technology.

Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) is characterized by a decline in cognitive functions, including memory, attention, and executive abilities, following surgery, with no effective therapeutic drugs currently available. Arketamine, the (R)-enantiomer of ketamine, has shown promise in mitigating cognitive deficits in animal models. In this study, we investigated whether arketamine could ameliorate cognitive deficits in a mouse model of POCD, with a focus on the role of transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 in its effects.

Unlabelled: Sheep are one of the globally significant livestock, providing meat, dairy products, and wool for human life, playing an indispensable role in human civilization. Despite significant advancements in microbiome research in recent years, most studies have focused solely on the rumen, lacking a comprehensive study covering the microbiome of different gastrointestinal tract (GIT) regions in sheep. In this study, we collected 338 samples from 10 different regions of the sheep GIT and systematically investigated their microbiome signatures, including community structure, enterotypes, interactions among taxa, and microbial community assembly.

However, the details of those proteins entering the host cells are unclear. Our previous study demonstrated that the two secretory RNase T2 members, BbRNT2 and BbTrv, produced by the insect fungal pathogen Beauveria bassiana, caused cytotoxic damage to insect cells and contributed to fungal virulence.

3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA; Ecstasy) is a widely abused recreational drug that has also gained interest for potential clinical applications in mental health. With the growing recognition of gut microbiota's role in mental health, this study examined whether repeated oral MDMA administration could affect gut microbiota in the small intestine, cecum, and colon of male rats. Repeated oral MDMA administration (10 mg/kg/day for 14 days) caused significant changes in the gut microbiota across these regions, with distinct effects observed in each.
