In this paper, a new sensor structure is designed, which consists of a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide and a circular protrusion and a rectangular triangular cavity (CPRTC). The characterization of nanoscale sensors is considered using an approximate numerical method (finite element method). The simulation results show that the sharp asymmetric resonance generated by the interaction between the discrete narrow-band mode and the continuous wideband mode is called Fano resonance.

Tropical cyclones (TCs), particularly those that rapidly intensify (RI), pose a significant threat due to the uncertainty in forecasting them. RI TC periods, which intensify by at least 13 m/s within 24 h, remain challenging to forecast accurately. Existing models achieve a probability of detection (POD) of 82.

Five seven-month-old Holstein bulls with similar body weights (279 ± 42 kg) were selected and subjected to a 5 × 5 Latin square experiment. The control group (CON) was fed with basal diet and the ratio of Lys to Met in the diet was adjusted to 3.

Significantly, the Raman activity of O-D vibrations was greatly enhanced by two orders of magnitude due to electron transfer in DMSO molecules. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations showed that the O-D Raman activity was significantly enhanced in the DMSO-DO dimer compared to the DO dimer.

This study aims to determine the role of PCRS + HIPEC and identify optimal strategies for managing these patients. One hundred fifty-nine patients who sought medical advice at Aerospace Center Hospital were retrospectively analyzed from January 2011 to December 2021.

Despite major progress in the investigation of boron cluster anions, direct experimental study of neutral boron clusters remains a significant challenge because of the difficulty in size selection. Here we report a size-specific study of the neutral B cluster using threshold photoionization with a tunable vacuum ultraviolet free electron laser. The ionization potential of B is measured to be 8.

Compared to traditional meat production methods, cell-cultured meat may significantly reduce energy consumption by 7% to 45%, greenhouse gas emissions by 78% to 96%, land use by 99%, and water use by 82% to 96%. This technology offers several advantages, including a shorter production cycle and enhanced environmental sustainability, resource efficiency, and overall sustainability.

However, the role of NOD1 in Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) has not been investigated. We used the Tumor Immune Estimate Resource (TIMER) database to compare the differential expression of NOD1 in various tumors.

However, diamond grains are prone to chemical wear as a result of their strong interaction with ferrous metals. To mitigate this wear, this study proposes the use of a novel water-based hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) as a minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) during the grinding of cast steel and conducted the grinding experiment and molecular dynamics simulation.

Specifically, the study showcases the topology design of a metal mirror with diameter of 200 mm, the additive manufacturing of standard aluminum-based powder (AlSi10Mg), the high-precision single-point diamond turning process of the surface. By setting the feasible domain partition, a topology optimization model suitable for metal additive manufacturing and subsequent surface shaping was constructed, which takes into account the multi-load machining load conditions of single-point diamond turning technology and the material topology representation of standard support structures for additive manufacturing.

However, the structural-functional (SC-FC) coupling changes in combination with subcortical regions at the network level are rarely investigated in PD.
Methods: SC-FC coupling networks were systematically constructed using the structural connectivity obtained by diffusion tensor imaging and the functional connectivity obtained by resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging in 53 PD and 72 age- and sex-matched healthy controls (HCs).
In recent years, light red or white strawberries have attracted much attention because of their unusual color, however, the mechanism of strawberry color formation, especially light red strawberry color, is not well understood. By EMS mutagenesis of woodland strawberry (Fragaria vesca), we identified two mutants, rg40 and rg120, with light red fruit and yellow-green petiole, and allelic hybridization and BSA mixed-pool sequencing revealed that the phenotype was caused by mutation in the FvPAL2 protein in the anthocyanin synthesis pathway. Enzyme activity experiments showed that the mutant FvPAL2 protein barely catalyzed the substrate conversion normally, thus blocking anthocyanin synthesis, which in turn led to a decrease in anthocyanin accumulation in fruits and petioles.

The sacrificial pits are located in the core region of Sanxingdui site, and numerous artifacts are unearthed including ivory, seashells, bronzes, pottery, jade, stone, gold, bone, and horn products. The function of the pits and buried artifacts has always been the focus, but the microbiome around artifacts attracts less attention.

Methods: Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 data were analyzed to assess HIV-TB incidence, death, prevalence, and DALY rates from 1990 to 2021, including different types of TB co-infections (drug-susceptible, multidrug-resistant, and extensively drug-resistant). Bayesian age-period-cohort models were used to forecast age-standardized DALY rates through 2035.
Heat interferes with multiple meiotic processes, leading to genome instability and sterility in flowering plants, including many crops. As semiconductor technology advances toward miniaturization and portability, thin films with excellent thermoelectric performance have garnered increasing attention, particularly for applications in self-powered devices and temperature-responsive sensors. The high Seebeck coefficient of SnSe thin films makes them promising for temperature sensing, but their poor electrical conductivity limits their potential as thermoelectric generators. In this work, high-quality -axis oriented SnSe thin films were deposited on quartz substrates by using magnetron sputtering.

Background: In recent years, the relationship between periodontal disease (PD) and atherosclerosis (AS) has garnered significant scholarly attention. Chronic inflammation induced by PD may promote the onset and progression of AS through multiple mechanisms. Given the increasing global incidence of both PD and AS, which adversely affects patients' quality of life and longevity, further investigation into the interplay between PD and AS is of substantial clinical importance.
