High-resolution ground observations from all 37 monitoring stations from 2015 to 2022 were used. This study used non-parametric generalized additive model (GAM) based smooth-trend and Theil-Sen slope estimator techniques to analyze temporal trends and variations.

Background: Women with preeclampsia frequently have disorders of calcium metabolism during their pregnancies, including hypocalciuria and low vitamin D levels. The link between fetal sex and vitamin D and vitamin D binding protein levels in pregnancy and preeclampsia is not clear.

Aim: Present study was designed to explore sex-specific variations in vitamin D and vitamin D binding protein levels in maternal and umbilical cord blood samples for age and gestation matched 20 primigravida normotensive and 20 primigravida with preeclampsia with a singleton pregnancy.

Context: Antihistamines (AHs) are the most widely long-term therapeutic option to manage allergic diseases. This research aimed to study the effects of long-term administration of AHs: on cognitive (memory, mood, attention, sleep and executive function) and psychomotor performance.

Materials And Methods: This prospective, observational study for a total duration of 30 months was carried out at the Dermatology OPD in adult patients with dermatological condition who were newly prescribed either chlorpheniramine (4 mg, BD), levocetirizine (10 mg, OD), fexofenadine (180 mg, OD) or bepotastine (10 mg, BD) for at least 28 days as per inclusion and exclusion criteria after taking written informed consent.

An operationally simple and mild one-pot protocol for the synthesis of a variety of 3,5-diarylpyridines from β-nitrostyrenes was achieved by using elemental iron. This reaction proceeds via reduction of the nitro group, resulting in in situ imine formation followed by trimolecular condensation with concomitant debenzylative aromatization. By employing this method, a series of symmetrical and unsymmetrical 3,5-diarylpyridines were synthesized with good to excellent yields.

Iodobenzene diacetate was employed as a mild and efficient reagent for one-pot oxidative decarboxylation of tetrahydro-β-carboline acids and dehydrogenation of tetrahydro-β-carbolines to access the corresponding aromatic β-carbolines. To the best of our knowledge this is the first synthesis of β-carbolines via a one-pot oxidative decarboxylation at ambient temperature. The utility of this protocol has been demonstrated in the synthesis of β-carboline alkaloids norharmane (2o), harmane (2p), eudistomin U (9) and eudistomin I (12).

Chiral pyrrolidinyl-oxazole-carboxamides were synthesized and used as efficient new organocatalysts for the asymmetric Michael addition of ketones with nitroalkenes under solvent-free conditions. Gratifyingly, the corresponding Michael adducts were obtained in higher yields (up to 99%) and excellent stereoselectivities (up to >99/1 dr and 99% ee). Transition state models have been proposed to account for the high enantio- and diastereoselectivity of these Michael addition reactions and also the energetics have been investigated using density functional methods.
