Introduction: Iatrogenic cervical esophageal perforation (ICEP) represents a rare and challenging surgical complication that results in significant morbidity and mortality. This is a case report of a cervical esophageal fistula that resulted from an iatrogenic perforation following thyroid surgery, treated with surgical repair followed by negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT).

We present an approach for detecting enzymes that are specific of compared with and provide targets that may assist research in drug development. This approach is based on traditional techniques of sequence homology comparison by similarity search and Markov modeling; it integrates the characterization of enzymatic functionality, secondary and tertiary protein structures, protein domain architecture, and metabolic environment. From 67 enzymes represented by 42 enzymatic activities classified by AnEnPi (Analogous Enzymes Pipeline) as specific for compared with , only 40 (23 Enzyme Commission [EC] numbers) could actually be considered as strictly specific of and 27 enzymes (19 EC numbers) were disregarded for having ambiguous homologies or analogies with .

Background: The Minimum Cost of a Nutritious Diet (MCNut) is the cost of a theoretical diet satisfying all nutrient requirements of a family at the lowest possible cost, based on availability, price, and nutrient content of local foods. A comparison with household expenditure shows the proportion of households that would be able to afford a nutritious diet.

Objective: To explore using the Cost of Diet (CoD) tool for policy dialogue on food and nutrition security in Indonesia.
