Introduction: The current literature suggests that the frequency and complexity of public health emergencies are rising and this trend will likely continue. From 2000 to 2023, seven events have been declared as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) by the World Health Organization (WHO). Organisational models such as the Incident Management System, Incident Response System and Incident Command System or country-specific models are essential in managing PHEIC.

Background: Recently, pyrazole derivatives have shown significant antiinflammatory activity. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have some side effects, mainly gastric irritation and gastric ulceration during the treatment of inflammation. So the current study deals with the synthesis and pharmacological evaluation of a series of novel pyrazole derivatives as anti-inflammatory agents.

Tumebacillus lipolyticus sp. nov., isolated from river water.

An aerobic, endospore-forming, alkali-tolerant, Gram-stain-positive, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain NIO-S10T, was isolated from a surface water sample collected from the Godavari River, Kapileswarapuram, India. Colonies on nutrient agar were circular, 3-4 mm in diameter, creamish and raised after incubation for 36 h at 37 °C. Growth occurred at 20-40 °C, at pH 6-9 and in the presence of 0-2 % (w/v) NaCl.

Overcoming the failure of axon regeneration in the mammalian central nervous system (CNS) after injury remains a major challenge, which makes the search for proregenerative molecules essential. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) have been implicated in axonal outgrowth during CNS development and show increased expression levels during vertebrate CNS repair. In mammals, MMPs are believed to alter the suppressive extracellular matrix to become more permissive for axon regrowth.

Does atraumatic restorative treatment reduce dental anxiety in children? A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Dental anxiety is one of the major problems affecting children, which impairs the rendering of dental care, leading to impaired quality of life. It often leads to occupational stress in dental personnel and conflict between parents/caregivers. The objective of this study was to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials done in children, to synthesize evidence of the effectiveness of atraumatic restorative treatment (ART) in reducing dental anxiety in children compared to conventional restorative treatments.

Adolescents and Body Image: A Cross Sectional Study.

Objectives: To assess proportion of adolescents perceiving their body image as normal and to study association between body shape, self-esteem and body mass index; each with body image perception.

Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted among pre university college (PUC) students of Udupi taluk. A total of 550 students in the age group of 15-19y were randomly selected from 11 PUC's: four were taken from government and unaided strata respectively and three from aided.

While several studies investigated their influence on peripheral nerve regeneration, in vivo studies on their role in adult CNS regeneration remain scarce.
