Rare occurrence of dural arteriovenous fistula in a child: Multi-modality imaging and literature review.

A dural arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is a rare condition in a child and is not evident clinically. It is a type of an acquired cerebral vascular malformation that usually occurs after a thrombotic event of the cerebral venous sinuses. Dural AVF is not suspected clinically and is revealed through imaging done for evaluation of cranial symptoms.

Time to CT head in adult patients with suspected traumatic brain injury: Association with the 'Shorter Stays in Emergency Departments' health target in Aotearoa New Zealand.

A national health target for length of stay in emergency departments (ED) was introduced in 2009 to reduce crowding and improve quality of care. We aimed to determine whether the target was associated with changes in time to CT and appropriateness of CT imaging, as markers of care quality for suspected acute traumatic brain injury (TBI). We undertook a retrospective review of the case records of a random sample of people aged ≥15 years presenting to the ED with TBI from 2006 to 2013.

Ameliorative efficacy of bioencapsulated Chironomous larvae with Shilajit on Zebrafish (Danio rerio) exposed to Ionizing radiation.

Using Zebrafish (Danio rerio) as a model organism, we evaluated the radioprotective and antioxidant effects of the Indian traditional medicine Shilajit exposed to X-Ray. The Zebrafish were divided into three experimental groups and control group, each group containing ten fish. The three experimental fish groups, group I, group II and group III were fed with 3, 5 and 7ppm shilajit encapsulated Chironomous larvae and group IV served as a control fed with non- encapsulated larvae.

Oral versus injectable ovulation induction agents for unexplained subfertility.

Background: Oral (anti-oestrogens) and injectable (gonadotrophins) ovulation induction agents have been used to increase the number of eggs produced by a woman per cycle in treatment for unexplained subfertility. It is unclear whether there are significant advantages of one type of treatment over the other in this context or in terms of fertility.

Objectives: To assess the efficacy of oral versus injectable ovulation induction agents for unexplained subfertility.
