Background: Nuclear import, dependent on the transporter importin α (IMPα), is a drug target for apicomplexan parasites Plasmodium falciparum and Toxoplasma gondii. Indeed, a panel of small molecule inhibit interactions between IMPα and nuclear localization signals (NLSs) in vitro and the growth of rapidly dividing stages (P. falciparum blood stages and T.

Etiological diagnosis of bronchiectasis depends on history, clinical features and HRCT scan. Recognition of the pattern of involvement & distribution of bronchiectasis in HRCT is useful to outline the differential diagnosis, map the complications and, hence, guide the further management in bronchiectasis.

Purpose Of Review: This review examines the pathophysiological interactions between COVID-19 and heart failure, highlighting the exacerbation of heart failure in COVID-19 patients. It focuses on the complex mechanisms driving worse outcomes in these patients.
Recent Findings: Patients with pre-existing heart failure experience more severe symptoms and higher mortality rates due to mechanisms such as cytokine storms, myocardial infarction, myocarditis, microvascular dysfunction, thrombosis, and stress cardiomyopathy.
The cardiac and vascular systems work in coordination by activating various reflex mechanisms based on the body's needs. These may be during physiological variations or pathophysiological changes seen in disease conditions of varying degrees of severity. This article intends to explain various reflexes involved in the homeostasis of the cardiovascular system and the role of vagus as the key component in all these reflexes.

To address conflicting reports and explore therapeutic potential, a GR signature (GRsig) independent of ER status was developed. We also investigated cell type-specific GR protein expression in BC tumor epithelial cells and infiltrating lymphocytes.

Aims And Objectives: To evaluate the marginal leakage of three different obturating materials and techniques using stereomicroscope.
Materials And Methods: Thirty freshly extracted maxillary anterior teeth were collected and were divided into three groups of 10 each for which the biomechanical preparation was done.
Objectives: The objectives of the current study was to evaluate the disinfection efficacy of ozone, ultraviolet (UV) radiation, herbal and glutaraldehyde method for sterilization of elastomeric impression materials.
Materials And Methods: Disinfection of elastomeric impression material was performed with each of the disinfection methods: ozone, UV radiation, herbal, and glutaraldehyde. Later microbiological analysis was performed and the colony-forming units were evaluated and compared.
Purpose: Soil-transmitted nematodes (STNs) are widespread in tropical and subtropical regions, particularly where the communities are socio-economically challenged. We investigated the effect of soil temperature on the prevalence and intensity of STN infection in free-roaming dogs.
Methods: Fresh faecal samples collected from free-roaming dogs in Digana and Pussellawa town areas in the Kandy District, Sri Lanka, were microscopically analysed for canine STNs.
Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a complex, chronic condition that can cause multiple complications due to poor glycemic control. Self-management plays a crucial role in the management of T2DM. Lifestyle modifications, including physical activity (PA), are fundamental for self-management.

Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is defined as any degree of glucose intolerance with the onset or first recognition during pregnancy and is the most common metabolic complication of pregnancy. Significant maternal and fetal complications can result from undiagnosed or inadequately treated GDM.
Aim: To investigate the difference in the expression of the CD-68 marker in the Hofbauer cells (HCs) and their distribution within the villi in the placentas of diabetic and non-diabetic mothers.
This paper describes a dataset acquired from 41 volunteers performing 16 Activities of daily livings (ADLs) and 8 Falls repeated 5 times. This data was collected using a custom wrist-worn end device. The dataset has data collected from Inertial measurement unit (IMU) and heart-rate sensors.

Methods: In total, 769 patients [284 women (36.9%)] admitted at a hospital in South India were analyzed.
Aim: In high-grade serous ovarian cancers (HG-SOC), BRCA1 mutation is one of the predominant mutations reported by various studies. However, the non-mutational mechanisms of BRCA pathway inactivation in HG-SOC are unclear. We evaluated BRCA1 inactivation by estimating its expression with its repressor, ID4, in primary and neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT)-treated HG-SOC tumors with known therapeutic responses.

Methods: A randomised controlled trial was conducted at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal from January 2019 to December 2021 among postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.
Background: Androgen receptor (AR) is considered a marker of better prognosis in hormone receptor positive breast cancers (BC), however, its role in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is controversial. This may be attributed to intrinsic molecular differences or scoring methods for AR positivity. We derived AR regulated gene score and examined its utility in BC subtypes.
