Tropical wetlands and freshwaters are major contributors to the growing atmospheric methane (CH) burden. Extensive peatland drainage has lowered CH emissions from peat soils in Southeast Asia, but the canals draining these peatlands may be hotspots of CH emissions. Alternatively, CH oxidation (consumption) by methanotrophic microorganisms may attenuate emissions.

Background: Previous reviews on the cause of vaccine hesitancy (VH) have not included vaccine hesitancy related to the COVID-19 vaccination in adolescents, which is necessary for minimizing disruptions to education and the maintenance of their overall well-being, health, and safety. This review aims to provide an overview of vaccine-hesitant perspectives on the COVID-19 vaccination in adolescents and the factors that influence them.

Aedes mosquito is the most common arboviral vector in the tropic and subtropic regions that it was dispersed in high-rise buildings up to many storeys. A study reported that similar condition in Indonesia is still limited, although the high-rise buildings are also growing rapidly throughout the country. This study aimed to understand the dispersal and density index of Aedes mosquitoes among storey buildings at the campus of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, Indonesia.

This study explores the influence of precoating aptamer (Ca-apt1) on viability while the fungus was growing in the presence of exposing condensed cigarette smoke (CSC), prepared from clove (CCSC) and non-clove (NCSC) cigarettes, for 48 h. Using qPCR, we found that mRNA expression of adhesion-associated genes ( ) was impaired by precoating yeast cells with the aptamer. Conversely, the gene transcription was upregulated when aptamer-uncoated yeast was pre-treated with either CSC.

Smallholder perceptions of land restoration activities: rewetting tropical peatland oil palm areas in Sumatra, Indonesia.

Fibroblast growth factor 21 (Fgf21) has emerged as a potential plasma marker to diagnose non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). To study the molecular processes underlying the association of plasma Fgf21 with NAFLD, we explored the liver transcriptome data of a mild NAFLD model of aging C57BL/6J mice at 12, 24, and 28 months of age. The plasma Fgf21 level significantly correlated with intrahepatic triglyceride content.
