Fibroblasts are native residents in dermal layer of human skin which are important for dermal regeneration and essential during cutaneous wound healing by releasing inflammatory markers and actively migrate to close an open wound. Premature skin ageing due to methylglyoxal (MGO) has recently caught the attention considering its potential to accelerate the emergence of skin ageing signs, however previous studies were only focused in primary neonatal dermal fibroblast and NIH3t3 fibroblast cell line. Therefore, thorough investigation is required to study the impact of MGO on primary human dermal fibroblast isolated from adult subject (HDFa).

Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of oral administration of radioiodine (I-131) on the immune responses (interleukin 6 and 10) as biodosimetry markers and to support clinical trials of I-131 solution.

Methods: The design of this study was an in vivo experimental study using twenty-seven male rats (Rattus norvegicus strain Sprague-Dawley) given 100 μL of I-131 solution at a dose of 260 μCi. Blood plasma was taken at 0.

Bronchocela celebensis Gray, 1845 is one of the rarest species of the genus, known only from less than 20 museum specimens collected from northern Sulawesi. It is often confused with its similar congener, B. cristatella, which occurs widely throughout the Indonesian Archipelago and Peninsular Malaysia, except on the Sulawesi mainland.

Javaen barb fish Systomus orphoides Valenciennes, 1842 (Cypriniformes: Cyprinidae) is a freshwater fish whose population is declining and threatened with extinction. In this study, the ultrastructure of spermatozoa of Javaen barb fish (S. orphoides) was studied using transmission and scanning electron microscopy.

Species of the agamid genus Bronchocela Kaup, 1827 in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are reassessed based on newly collected specimens from different parts of the Nicobar Archipelago. An assessment based on morphology and distribution of the identified groups reveal two new, unnamed populations, one allied to B. cristatella and the other allied to B.

Embryo selection for fertilization (IVF) is an effort to increase the success rate of embryo implantation. Factors influencing the success of embryo implantation include embryo quality, endometrial receptivity, embryo characteristics, and maternal interactions. Some molecules have been found to influence these factors, but their regulatory mechanisms are unclear.

Background: Longan honey (LH) has the potential as a natural extracellular cryoprotectant to maintain the integrity of intact preantral follicles against the cryoinjury during ovarian vitrification.

Objective: This research determined the cryoprotective effects of logan honey on preantral follicles integrity of rat ovary post-vitrification.

Materials And Methods: After vitrification, the follicle index was determined by observing the ovarian histological sections made using the paraffin method with hematoxylin-eosin staining and analyzed using Optilab 3.

Magnesium ion (Mg ) plays a fundamental role in chromosome condensation which is important for genetic material segregation. Studies about the effects of Mg on the overall chromosome structure have been reported. Nevertheless, its effects on the distribution of heterochromatin and euchromatin region have yet to be investigated.

Bronchocela hayeki (Mller, 1928) is one of the rarest species of the genus, known only from a handful of museum specimens from five locations in North Sumatra, and often confused with its similar congener, B. cristatella, which occurs widely throughout the Indonesian Archipelago and Peninsular Malaysia. Here, we examined the morphology of B.

The objective of this study was to determine the optimum concentration of egg yolk of free-range chicken as a cryoprotective agent on cyprinid fish, sperm after 48 h frozen. One level of methanol (10%) combined with six levels of egg yolk solution (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%) were tested. Fish Ringer's solution was used as an extender.

We examined the holotype of Euprepes innotatus Blanford, 1870 which was presented to the Natural History Museum, London (NHMUK) by Blanford himself, and is redescribed herein. Based on the morphological similarity, we placed Eutropis innotata within the E. carinata group (contra Blanford, 1870), as it is closely allied to E.

Objectives: Endometriosis is a common gynecological disorder, characterized by the presence of endometrial-like tissue in the extrauterine location. The increasing estradiol concentration can influence endometriosis risk and estrogen receptor (ER) activity. Polymorphism in ER causes gene expression alteration and influences hormone-receptor interaction.

The fate of the corpus luteum, a transient endocrine gland formed and degraded during an oestrous cycle, is decided by various physiological factors, such as luteinizing hormone (LH). As a stimulator of progesterone, LH is known to maintain corpus luteum functional and structural integrity by inhibiting apoptosis, a programmed cell death. Therefore, we aim to investigate its action during the mid-luteal phase hypothesized that LH suppresses the death mechanism of bovine luteal steroidogenic cells (LSC) by analysing the expression of proteins involved.

Background: Studies have been conducted to improve the pregnancy rate through the in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) program. In recent years, researchers have been focusing on finding impact of high progesterone level on endometrial receptivity. However, data on whether progesterone level also affects the quality of the embryo is still limited.

Background And Objectives: Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) play important roles in processing of Sayur Asin (spontaneously fermented mustard). Unfortunately, information about LAB in Indonesian Sayur Asin, prepared by traditional manufactures which is important as baseline data for maintenance of food quality and safety, is unclear. The aim of this study was to describe the diversity and distribution of culturable lactic acid bacteria in Sayur Asin of Indonesia.

Sexual differentiation in the female chick embryo was phenotypically reversed to the male sex by injection of an aromatase inhibitor (Fadrozole, 0.1 mg/egg) into the embryo at day 5 of incubation. The birds were raised to 10 months of age, and the morphology of the gonads of sex-reversed hens were examined by the light-microscopic morphology, and the presence of the W chromosome gene was determined by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) technique and used for PCR analysis of a single isolated sperm.

On Day 5 of incubation fertilized eggs of single-comb White Leghorn hens were injected with an aromatase inhibitor (AI) and the sex reversal effect and levels of mRNA of P450(17alpha-hydroxylase) (P450(17alpha)) and 450(aromatase) (P450(arom)) were evaluated by observation of gonadal phenotype and by Northern and slot blot analysis. Individual genetic sex was evaluated by Southern blot analysis of red blood cells using a female sex chromosomal W-specific DNA probe. Saline injection had no sex reversal effect, whereas AI injection resulted in 50% sex reversal from genetic female but no effect on male.
