Two patients of early adolescence age presented with medically resistant primary dysmenorrhoea. Imaging (MRI scan) confirmed an asymmetric uterine septum with a unilaterally obstructed horn with haematometra. Laparotomy and Tompkins metroplasty was performed to unify the uterine cavity in each case, a technique not used for this condition before.

Given the heightened trade-induced activity at ports of entry, it is particularly crucial to assess the risk of mosquito-borne diseases in these settings. This study compared the risks of Aedes-borne disease in and around the eastern Tanzanian seaport of Tanga.

Aims: Determine prevalence of trauma exposure, prevalence of probable PTSD and conditional prevalence of probable PTSD for different traumatic events; and better understand the experiences of individuals with HIV and PTSD.
Method: This mixed method study used secondary data from a cross-sectional survey of people ( = 222) aged 18 to 29 living with HIV in Zimbabwe and primary qualitative data collection.
The human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) gene is a critical biomarker for determining amplification status and targeting clinical therapies in breast cancer treatment. This study introduces a computer-aided method that automatically measures and scores HER2 gene status from invasive tissue regions of breast cancer using whole slide images (WSI) through silver hybridization (SISH) staining. Image processing and deep learning techniques are employed to isolate untruncated and non-overlapping single nuclei from cancer regions.

A new series of urea and thiourea derivatives based on Lenalidomide as potential anticancer agents have been designed and synthesized. In vitro anticancer activity assay against Caki cancer cells and HUVEC endothelial cells revealed that 1-(4-methylphenyl)-3-[2-(2,6-dioxopiperidin-3-yl)-1-oxoisoindolin-4-yl]urea (11) exhibited the highest anticancer activity and selectivity in the series with IC values of 9.

The UHPLC-MS/MS metabolomics approach was employed to profile and characterize multi-components in Halamphora sp. extracted with different solvents that contribute to quorum sensing inhibitory (QSI) activity. A total of 37 and 34 metabolites were tentatively identified from negative and positive ion modes, respectively.

Therefore, it is essential to evaluate their motivations and awareness regarding such practices. The objective of our study was to assess the knowledge, awareness, and perceptions of non-dentists offering orthodontic treatment among the Malaysian young adult population.

Recent studies pointed out the modulation of imidazoline I receptors (I-IR) by selective ligands as a putative strategy to face neurodegenerative diseases. Foregoing the classical 2-imidazoline/imidazole-containing I-IR ligands, we report a family of bicyclic α-iminophosphonates endowed with high affinity and selectivity upon I-IR and we advanced a representative compound B06 in preclinical phases. In this paper, we describe the synthetic possibilities of bicyclic α-iminophosphonates by exploring its ambivalent reactivity, leading to unprecedented molecules that showed promising activities as I-IR ligands in human brain tissues and good BBB permeation capabilities.

There is a paucity of data on the pattern of first manifestation of CVD and the outcome among patients with T2DM in Cameroon.
Objectives: We aimed to examine the pattern of the first manifestation of CVD and the outcome among patients with T2DM.
With the goal to support effective water resource management, water quality models have gained popularity as tools for evaluating the distributions of pollutants and sediments. This work focuses on the application of the numerical solution of an advection-dispersion-reaction (ADR) water quality model for rivers and streams to a major Philippine waterway, the Pasig River. The water quality constituent is described by a system of reaction and advection-dispersion-reaction equations.

Concerns about diabetes complications are growing both globally and locally, making effective preventive measures crucial to tackle these complications. This research aimed to determine the level of knowledge and awareness regarding type 2 diabetes complications among patients in Homs, Syria, during the ongoing conflict.

HER2 amplification, a key prognostic marker in 20-25% of breast cancers, can be assessed through alterations in gene copy number or protein expression. However, challenges persist due to the heterogeneity of nuclear regions and complexities in cancer biomarker detection.

The absence of any review (English language) on AMG for corneal ulcers prompted us to conduct this review. We looked for clinical trials (randomized and controlled) on the effect of AMG combined with other treatments, through various search engines utilizing the terms amniotic membrane and corneal ulcer.
