Emvolio - A battery operated portable refrigerator preserves biochemical and haematological integrity of biological samples in preclinical studies.

Emvolio is a non-medical device, indigenously developed portable refrigeration for maintaining the internal temperature 2-8˚C. The Indian Patent Office has granted patent for applications such as preservation and transport of medicines, vaccines, food, beverages, dairy etc. Further, use of Emvolio can be utilized in transport and store biologicals to preserve their biochemical and cellular integrity.

A novel approach for rapid and sensitive detection of Zika virus utilizing silver nanoislands as SERS platform.

To control the spread of the disease, the Zika virus (ZIKV), a flavivirus infection spread by mosquitoes and common in across the world, needs to be accurately and promptly diagnosed. This endeavour gets challenging when early-stage illnesses have low viral loads. As a result, we have created a biosensor based on surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) for the quick, accurate, and timely diagnosis of the Zika virus.

Background: Currently, no drug has been approved for the management of postischemic neuronal damage. Existing studies show that calcium channel blockers have neuroprotective properties, while citicoline is involved in maintaining neuronal integrity.

Purpose: This study was envisaged to investigate the effect of azelnidipine (novel calcium channel blocker) alone and in combination with citicoline (phosphatidyl-choline analogue) against ischemic brain damage in Wistar rats.
