Thoracolumbar spinal deformities are a pervasive condition affecting the adolescent and adult patient population. These deformities represent three-dimensional alterations in the coronal, sagittal, and transverse planes with implication on the local, regional, and global alignment. With continued studies, the importance of the overall correction on long-term outcomes has been established.

In our previous report, nivolumab plus ipilimumab showed superior progression-free survival versus chemotherapy in first-line microsatellite instability-high or mismatch repair-deficient metastatic colorectal cancer in the CheckMate 8HW trial. Here, we report results from the prespecified interim analysis for the other primary endpoint of progression-free survival for nivolumab plus ipilimumab versus nivolumab across all treatment lines.

However, precisely controlling the doping concentration, doping location, and the mono-distribution of Mn ions in the large-micro-size CsPbCl perovskite host is a formidable challenge. Here, the micro size CsPbCl perovskite crystals (MCs) are reported with uniform Mn ions doping by self-assembly of Mn ions doped CsPbCl perovskite NCs.

Aims: This systematic review aimed to examine prospective studies on the association between age of CU onset and later SU problems, controlling for key individual, social, and SU-related risk factors.
Methods: PsycINFO, Web of Science and PubMed were searched for studies published between January 2000 and December 2024.
Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy (CAR-T) has revolutionized the treatment of hematologic malignancies, demonstrating significant clinical efficacy and leading to US Food and Drug Administration approval of several CAR T-cell-based products. This success has prompted exploration of CAR-T in other disease areas, including autoimmune diseases (AIDs). CAR-T targeting B cells has been shown to provide clinical and biological improvements in patients with refractory AIDs.

Methods: Prospective and longitudinal study conducted in 2 tertiary hospitals (2018-2021). Data from 2 PSG (PSG1 0-3 months of life, PSG2 6-10 months of life) performed in RS infants in different sleep positions/conditions (without treatment: supine [SP]; with treatment: lateral [LP], prone [PP], respiratory support) were analyzed.
The endangered beluga whale (Delphinapterus leucas) of the St. Lawrence Estuary (SLEB) faces threats from a variety of anthropogenic factors. Since belugas are a highly social and vocal species, passive acoustic monitoring has the potential to deliver, in a non-invasive and continuous way, real-time information on SLEB spatiotemporal habitat use, which is crucial for their monitoring and conservation.

This protocol outlines a comprehensive program evaluation to assess its impact on patient outcomes, healthcare utilization, and client perspectives.
Methods: We will conduct a parallel mixed-method study that includes the analysis of single-center-level administrative health data and primary data collection.
Background: Nutritional stress is a mechanism that allows tumor cells to evade the immune system. Arginine (ARG), an amino acid involved in immunomodulation, aids in regulating T-lymphocyte cell activity and the antitumor response. ARG deficiency in the tumor microenvironment can impair T-cell response while ARG supplementation may promote antitumor immune activity.

Endometriosis is a chronic condition of the reproductive tract that affects 5-10% of cisgender women. A recent systematic review with meta-analysis uncovered a pooled prevalence of 25.

Background: The health effects of alcohol consumption, particularly regarding potential protective benefits of light to moderate intake compared to abstinence, remain a subject of ongoing debate. However, epidemiological studies face limitations due to imprecise exposure measurements and the potential for bias through residual confounding and reverse causation. To address these limitations, we conducted a systematic review of Mendelian Randomization (MR) studies examining the causal relationship between alcohol consumption and cancers, cardiovascular, liver, and neurological diseases.

Computational methods for gene expression deconvolution use this information to infer the cell composition of related tissues profiled at the bulk level. However, current deconvolution methods are restricted to discrete cell types and have limited power to make inferences about continuous cellular processes such as cell differentiation or immune cell activation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIsocyanates are well-known irritants and sensitizers, and measuring their occupational airborne exposure is challenging due to their high chemical reactivity and semi-volatile nature. This study builds on a previous publication by our team that focused on comparing evaluation methods for isocyanates. The current research aims at developing, validating, and applying a laboratory generation system designed to replicate real-world conditions for spraying clear coats in autobody shops using hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI)-based products.

It has been noted that cognition measured via in-person versus remote methods differ substantially, and it is possible that subjective and experiential differences exist between modalities.
Objective: The aim of the study is to explore the perceptions of both researchers and older adult participants on the experience of remotely conducted research using a cognitive screener.
Background: Quality of life is decreased in bipolar disorders (BD) and contributes to poor prognosis. However, little is known about the causal pathways that may affect it. This study aimed to explore health-related QoL (HRQoL) in BD and investigate its relationship with cognition and psychosocial functioning.

The extent of myocardial inflammation in patients suffering from ischaemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and its association with mitochondrial energy metabolism are unknown. We aimed at establishing a relevant role of cardiac inflammation in the impairment of mitochondrial energy production in advanced ischaemic and non-ischaemic HF.

Study Design: Single-center, double-blinded, prospective crossover randomized controlled trial.
Objective: To clinically validate the efficacy of nighttime braces designed automatically by a generative design algorithm to treat idiopathic scoliosis (IS). The tested hypothesis was the clinical equivalence of immediate in-brace correction for the new automatically generated brace design versus a standard Providence-type brace.
Congenital scoliosis (CS) is a type of vertebral malformation for which the etiology remains elusive. The notochord is pivotal for vertebrae development, but its role in CS is still understudied. Here, we generated a zebrafish knockout of ptk7a, a planar cell polarity (PCP) gene that is essential for convergence and extension (C&E) of the notochord, and detected congenital scoliosis-like vertebral malformations (CVMs).
