In the current study the presence of selected phthalates in diapers used in Türkiye and release of phthalates through baby diapers into waste disposal sites were investigated. Targeted phthalates were analyzed in three different layers of a total of 39 diaper samples sold in the Turkish market. Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), Diethyl phthalate (DEP) and Di-n-butyl phthalate (DnBP) were detected in all three layers of diapers.

Despite various preventative measures, cocaine smuggling is still a major problem worldwide. A recent method of smuggling is the transportation of cocaine with various chemicals or with impregnated materials such as cloth and paper. This study aims to examine the change in the amount of cocaine on the paper surface and attempts to decide the best fingermark development method in the case of smuggling trafficking in the form of impregnated paper with the least effect on the cocaine concentration on the paper.

This study assesses association between occupational and environmental pesticide exposure on pesticide applicators directly exposed to pesticides and inhabitants of the Cukurova region by analyzing blood and hair samples. Hair and blood samples were collected from 132 volunteers, 66 of whom are pesticide applicators, and the rest are non-farmer residents, in 10 villages nearby the Ceyhan River between March and June in 2017. Synthetic cannabinoids are a significant public health and safety problem that complicates drug tests with their ever-changing structures in our country and worldwide. This study aims to explain whether EtG and EtS, which are two non-oxidative ethanol metabolites secreted by the liver and used as markers of alcohol intake related to an incident, were also present in whole blood samples of patients with traffic accident injuries. EtG and EtS concentrations in all of the whole blood samples were sent to the Forensic Medicine Department of Cukurova University for testing Blood Alcohol Concentrations (BAC) via validated liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometer method. The scope of the study covers 200 patients that were admitted to medical services within 12 h following the incident.
