The demographic and clinical characteristics of patients who have pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants may differ from their relatives who had related cancer. In this study, we aimed to demonstrate the clinical and demographic findings of patients who had -related cancer and to assess the differences comparing their relatives who had -related cancer with breast, genital tract, prostate, and pancreas cancers as well. The results of sequencing analysis of 200 cancer patients (190 women, 10 men) who have been directed to genetic counseling with an indication of testing from different regions across 9 medical oncology centers were retrospectively analyzed.

Tuning the adsorption and desorption rate constant of proteins is a hot topic for broad range of applications in biotechnology and medical science; especially controlled drug delivery and protein separation are the prominent examples in this field. In this study, Gel-MNPs (Poly(N-isopropylacrylamid) PNIPA-Magnetic Nano Particles) composites were synthesized by using different concentrations of monomer and cross-linker to observe the effect of gel morphology on the adsorption and desorption rate constant and kinetics of lysozyme protein. The synthesized composites were characterized by XRD, VSM, SEM and FTIR techniques.

Early reports indicated that stones in the upper ureter that have been manipulated back into the kidney have a higher success rate with SWL than those treated in situ. Difficulties in detecting stones in the mid and lower ureter with lithotripters using ultrasonographic localization also limit in situ SWL of ureteral calculi. We treated 254 patients with ureteral calculi (85 upper, 72 mid, and 97 lower) using in situ SWL on the Dornier MFL 5000.

A retrospective study was conducted of the efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (SWL) monotherapy for the management of 31 patients with staghorn calculi (mean size 5.2 cm2). Five patients were lost to follow-up, 10 were stone-free in the end, and 11 had effective disintegration with small residual fragments.

Advanced prostatic carcinoma may be treated by a variety of methods of endocrine manipulation which affect the production of androgens. This can either be done by bilateral orchiectomy or by a number of drugs. Orchiectomy has two advantages: low cost and being a once-only procedure.

Since vasodilators enhance the peritoneal solute transport, the influence of intraperitoneal papaverine was studied. To verify the action of papaverine on peritoneal transport we selected 33 patients on acute peritoneal dialysis and performed two 2-hour cycles with 2000 cc of a 1.5% solution, adding 40 mg of papaverine to the fourth cycle.
