Objectives: Hypospadias is the most common anomaly of the male genital system after undescended testis. More than 200 surgical repair techniques have been described for the treatment of hypospadias due to many different meatus localisations and other accompanying anomalies. Kutlay defined a new technique in 2010 with 10 patients with distal hypospadias patients.

Objective: This study was performed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dextranomer/cross-linked hyaluronic acid (Hyadex) in patients with a clinical diagnosis of vesicoureteral reflux (VUR).

Methods: In this cross-sectional multicenter observational study, Hyadex was used in four different centers for the endoscopic treatment of VUR from 2020 to 2022. The study involved 74 patients (93 renal units) who were diagnosed with VUR according to voiding cystourethrography (VCUG) findings and were considered suitable for subureteric endoscopic treatment.

This study was designed to evaluate the malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH) and nitric oxide (NO) levels, and also prolidase, glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzyme activities in malignant and benign cancers of bladder tissue. A total of 59 patients admitted to our clinic due to microscopic or macroscopic haematuria, were prospectively included in the study. Because of some reasons (no request to participate in the study, the inability to reach, other malignancies, alcohol consumption, metabolic disease), eight patients were excluded from study.

Prostatic leiomyoma is a benign and rare condition of the prostate. Robotic surgery is increasingly being applied in the surgical management of prostate cancer. Herein, a mass lesion that was located in the posterior part of the prostate between seminal vesicles that was identified during robotic surgery is presented.

Objectives: To determine whether serum levels of adenosine deaminase (AD), catalase (CAT), and carbonic anhydrase (CA) enzymes may be useful biomarkers in the diagnosis of renal tumors and may lead to early diagnosis of renal tumors.

Material And Methods: The study included 33 patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and 31 healthy controls. The activity of serum AD, CA, and CAT was determined and analyzed using the Giusti spectrophotometric method, HO substrate, and C0 hydration, respectively.

Introduction: Trace elements are primary components of biological structures; however, they can be toxic when their concentrations are higher than those needed for biological functions.

Materials And Methods: In the present study serum levels of trace elements were measured in 30 patients (mean age was 26.9±11.

Objectives: Prolidase plays a major role in collagen turnover, matrix remodeling, and cell growth. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) may be associated with an increased extracellular matrix deposition. Therefore, the present study was designed to investigate the plasma prolidase activity, oxidative status, and peripheral mononuclear leukocyte DNA damage in patients with BPH.

Background: Trace elements are major components of biological structures; however, excessive levels of these elements can be toxic.

Materials And Methods: In the present study, serum levels of trace elements were measured in 30 patients with newly diagnosed as prostate cancer and 32 healthy volunteer by using furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry.

Results: It was found that there was an increase in serum levels of Co, Cu, Mg and Pb (p<0.

Background: Evidence indicates that Dickkopf-1 (DKK-1) levels may be a biomarker for cancer risk. The aim of this study was to assess DKK-1 and its correlation with clinic-pathological features in patients with bladder cancer.

Materials And Methods: DKK-1 levels were determined in serum samples from 90 patients with bladder cancer before transurethral tumor resection.

Objectives: Prolidase is a member of the matrix metalloproteinase family. It plays a vital role in collagen turnover, matrix remodeling, and cell growth. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) have been implicated in the pathogenesis of various diseases, including cancers.

Objective: Our aim was to evaluate the role of a conservative approach in the treatment of renal trauma in the pediatric age group.

Materials And Methods: A total of 31 pediatric patients with renal trauma (male = 25, female = 6) in whom we used a conservative approach in our clinic between the years 2002 and 2010 were included in the study. Patients were assessed according to the type of trauma, type of treatment, findings of radiological imaging, concomitant other organ injuries and complications occurring during follow-up.

Our aim was to test the hypothesis that preoperative serum levels of matrix metalloproteinase-7 (MMP-7) and -9 (MMP-9) and tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase (TIMP-1) levels correlate with pathological features. Serum levels of MMP-7, and MMP-9 and TIMP-1 were determined in 90 bladder cancer patients and 40 healthy controls using an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Preoperative serum MMP-7 and MMP-9 levels were significantly higher in cancer patients than control groups (p<0.

Penile fracture (PF) is known as a traumatic rupture of the tunica albuginea of corpus cavernosum. In this study, we aimed to investigate the healing influence of topical extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) on PF through evaluating levels of some oxidative stress biomarkers for the first time. Histopathological evaluation was also realized.

Trace elements which are essential components of biological structures may also be toxic when present at levels above the amounts required for biological function. In our study, trace element levels were measured with furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry in 33 newly diagnosed renal cell carcinoma cases (preoperative) and 32 healthy controls. When compared with the control group, it was found that the levels of cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) were higher and the levels of zinc (Zn), iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) were lower in the patient group.

Objectives: The relationship between adenosine deaminase and various cancers has been investigated in several studies. However, serum adenosine deaminase activity and carbonic anhydrase and catalase activities in patients with bladder cancer have not previously been reported. Therefore, the aim of this study was to measure serum adenosine deaminase, carbonic anhydrase and catalase activities in patients with bladder cancer.

Aim: The aim of the present study was to evaluate retrospectively histopathologically-diagnosed lesions that were detected in the kidney after radical nephrectomy for a preoperative diagnosis of kidney cancer.

Methods: The medical records of 83 patients (51 male, 32 female) were included. Preoperative staging was accomplished by various methods including physical examination, blood hemography and biochemistry, abdominal ultrasonography (US), chest x-ray, abdominal computed tomography (CT) and abdominal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

This study was designed to investigate whether exposure to short-term extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) produces histologic changes or induces apoptosis in the kidney, adrenal glands or diaphragm muscle in rats. The effect of shock waves on the kidney of male Wistar rats (n = 12) was investigated in an experimental setting using a special ESWL device. Animals were killed at 72 h after the last ESWL, and the tissues were stained with an in situ Cell Death Detection Kit, Fluorescein.

Objectives: Human neutrophil proteins-1, -2, and -3 (HNPs -1, -2, and -3) are expressed in several tumor types. However, the role of HNPs 1-3 in human bladder cancer has not yet been determined. We investigated the association between the plasma levels of HNPs 1-3 and clinicopathological parameters in bladder cancer patients.

This study was designed to investigate whether extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) exposure to parotid gland produces an oxidative stress in parotid glands of rats. Twelve male Wistar-albino rats, 6 months of age with an average body weight of 250-300 g, were divided randomly into two groups, each consisting of six rats. The animals in the first group did not receive any treatment and served as control.
