Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the factors predicting the progression to status epilepticus (SE) in patients who presented with generalized convulsive epileptic (GCE) seizures.
Materials And Methods: Patients included in the study were grouped as SE (+) and (-) patients. In addition to hemogram, biochemistry and blood gas parameters, the levels of antiepileptic drugs used by the patients at the time of presentation to the emergency department (ED) were also studied.
Background: The serum calcium plays a role as a cofactor in critical steps such as cardiac contractility, vascular tone, and the coagulation cascade. This study aimed to determine if the level of ionized calcium can predict outcomes in patients with spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in the emergency department.
Methods: The study was a retrospective cross-sectional case series.
